Sophon sunsets its Layer 2 blockchain, moves to Base to build consumer apps
Sophon is shutting down its Layer 2 blockchain and moving to Base, saying it no longer makes sense to spend millions of dollars a year maintaining its own chain.The project plans to focus instead on building consumer apps, starting with gamified neofinance app Pyre, which launches next month.
