Bonzo Finance is a decentralized credit market and non-custodial lending protocol built on the Hedera network. The protocol is based on the open-source smart contracts of Aave version two, which have been specifically adapted to work with the Hedera Ethereum Virtual Machine and the native Hedera Token Service. The core functionality of the platform revolves around over-collateralized lending and borrowing. Users can supply digital assets into liquidity pools to earn yield, while others can borrow against their deposited collateral. Supported assets include HBAR, native USDC, and various other Hedera-native tokens. In addition to standard lending, the protocol offers advanced features such as flash loans, which allow for instant, uncollateralized loans for complex financial strategies, and automated liquidity management vaults. To ensure the security and reliability of its markets, Bonzo Finance integrates decentralized price feeds from multiple oracle providers, including Chainlink, Supra, and Pyth. This integration helps maintain accurate asset valuations and manages the risk of liquidations within the protocol. Users can access the platform through a variety of ecosystem wallets, including HashPack, Kabila, and MetaMask. The BONZO token is the native utility and governance token of the ecosystem. Holders can participate in staking to receive rewards and XBONZO, representing their stake in the protocol. Future development plans for the token include its role in a decentralized autonomous organization, or DAO, where community members will be able to vote on protocol changes and governance proposals. The project also features a transparent on-chain points program to reward user participation and loyalty, supplemented by an NFT collection that provides holders with point multipliers and other specific ecosystem benefits.
