TOMB SHARES (TSHARE) FAQ
What is the primary utility of the TSHARE token within the Tomb Finance ecosystem?
TSHARE serves two main functions. First, it is a governance token, granting holders voting rights on protocol developments and changes. Second, it acts as a "share" of the system's success. When the price of TOMB exceeds its 1 FTM peg, the protocol mints new TOMB and distributes it as rewards to users who have staked their TSHARE in the Masonry (Boardroom).
What happens once the maximum supply of 70,000 TSHARE tokens is reached?
Once the fixed maximum supply of 70,000 tokens is reached, no new TSHARE tokens are minted as rewards in the liquidity pools. However, the token remains essential because it continues to be the only way to receive TOMB rewards in the Masonry. As long as the protocol stays above its peg, TSHARE stakers continue to earn from the system's expansionary phases.
Why does the Masonry sometimes stop distributing rewards to TSHARE stakers?
The Masonry only distributes rewards when the Time-Weighted Average Price (TWAP) of TOMB is above 1.01 FTM. If the price falls below this threshold, the protocol enters a contraction phase where no new TOMB is minted. Rewards only resume once the peg is restored and the protocol has successfully managed its outstanding debt.
How does a protocol "Debt Phase" impact TSHARE holders?
A debt phase occurs when the protocol must restore its peg. During this time, TSHARE stakers do not receive rewards. Instead, the protocol uses expansionary periods to first pay off bonds (TBONDs). Once the debt is settled and the peg is stable, the protocol resumes the distribution of new TOMB rewards to TSHARE holders in the Masonry.
What are the primary risks associated with staking TSHARE?
Staking TSHARE involves peg risk; if the ecosystem's stablecoin fails to maintain its value relative to FTM, TSHARE loses its primary utility for earning rewards. Additionally, the Masonry employs lock-up periods, such as 6 epochs for withdrawals and 3 epochs for reward claims, preventing immediate exits during volatility. Users providing liquidity also face potential impermanent loss.
How can users acquire TSHARE and view it in their wallets?
TSHARE can be acquired through the Tomb Finance dApp or major decentralized exchanges on the Fantom network. To view the token in a digital wallet, users must add the contract address: 0x4cdf39285d7ca8eb3f090fda0c069ba5f4145b37. One "Epoch" represents a 6-hour time period at the end of which the protocol calculates the peg to determine reward distributions.
